Ruling on vomiting while fasting?
If one vomits involuntarily while fasting, the fast does not break, whether it is a mouthful or less, and if one vomits intentionally while remembering the fast, for example by inserting a finger, then in the case of vomiting a mouthful, the fast will break by consensus. And if it is less than a mouthful, there is a difference of opinion regarding it; it is narrated from Hazrat Imam Muhammad in Zahir al-Riwayah that the fast will break, while the statement of Hazrat Imam Abu Yusuf is that the fast will not break. Some jurists have given preference to the statement of Imam Abu Yusuf. But there is more precaution in the statement of Imam Muhammad.
