The Essence of Life:

Someone asked the respected Shaikh-ul-Islam Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani Sahib, "Hazrat, what is the essence of life?"

Hazrat stated these 20 points:

(1) Always express gratitude to Allah in every situation.

(2) Strive that throughout your entire life, no one complains about you to another human being; complaining to the Lord is a far more distant matter.

(3) Never compete with family members. Accept the loss, but do not compete. You will see the result yourself later.

(4) Do not say anywhere, "I am a scholar, give me a concession/favor." This is an inappropriate act. Strive to become a giver.

(5) The best dining mat (Dastarkhwan) is the one at home. Whatever is in your destiny, you will eat it like kings.

(6) Do not place hope in anyone except Allah.

(7) With each coming day, increase your hard work further.

(8) It is appropriate to keep a distance from the gatherings of the wealthy and the arrogant.

(9) Give charity (Sadqah) every day in the morning, and recite Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) in the evening.

(10) Bring sweetness into your speech.

(11) Do not speak in a loud voice even to a small child.

(12) Respect the place from where you receive your sustenance (Rizq) with all your heart and soul. The more respect you show, the more your sustenance will increase, Insha'Allah.

(13) Strive to sit in the company of successful people in life. One day or another, you too will surely become a part of that group.

(14) Respect the skilled person of every field and treat them with courtesy, no matter which field they belong to.

(15) The more morally and politely you deal with parents, teachers, and relatives, the more blessings (Barakah) there will be in your sustenance and life.

(16) Adopt moderation in every task.

(17) Maintain relations with common people as well; you will get to learn a lot from this too.

(18) Do not complain about one person to another. Our beloved Holy Prophet (ﷺ) did not like those who complain.

(19) Present everything in a positive manner; this will resolve many problems.

(20) Keep your tongue quiet in the gatherings of elders.

In the end, he taught the following supplication (Dua) to be read with diligence in difficult times, stating that it will bring great benefit, Insha'Allah:

"رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَّهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا"

(Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.)

Baba Ji's Four Advices - An Interesting Incident

Baba Ji's Four Advices - An Interesting Incident

During the days when I used to study in a madrasa, an old wise man (Baba Ji) spent most of his time in the mosque. He would remain engaged in one worship or another all the time. It was the same season, severe winter. I saw that he was performing ablution (wudu) with ice-cold water and was smiling. At first, I remained captivated by the spell of his strange smile. When his gaze fell upon me, I was startled. I went close to him and asked, "Baba Ji, you are performing ablution with such cold water, and instead of shivering/making cold sounds (si-si), you are smiling?" In his specific manner, he wiped his eyebrows and said, "Dear son, you are still young, you won't understand." I said, "I know you were enjoying it." He looked at me and said, "Son, I am not worthy of claiming enjoyment in worship, however, I feel a spiritual ecstasy/serenity from this cold water. Thinking that my Allah is watching me, and He sees that His wretched, worn-out old servant is putting his hands in cold water just to please Him, my belief tells me that my Lord must be getting pleased. It is just the joy of this state that is upon me..." Saying this, he began to sob and cry, and my tearing eyes were making a failed attempt to accompany him. When he became quiet, I asked, "Baba Ji, how can this joy and sweetness of worship be attained?" He said, "It is very easy, you just have to do four things. You will find such joy in every good deed that your heart will blossom with happiness. 1. Become detached from the world. Remove it from your heart. Keep it only to the level of necessity, not to the level of desire and pleasure. 2. Keep your sustenance (provision) absolutely and openly halal, to the extent that you avoid even doubtful and ambiguous things. 3. Stay silent. Do not speak more than necessary, and do not indulge in useless gossip. 4. Protect your eyes. The day you start protecting your eyes, you will begin to receive the ecstasy of worship." Dear friends! Today, after 22 years, when I remembered Baba Ji's words, I went to his grave, recited Fatiha, and sat there for a long time. What valuable sayings he had uttered! If we do these four things, we will truly feel the sweetness and ecstasy of worship. ____________📝📝____________ Narrated / Transmitted. Selection: Islamic Tube Pro App
