When someone complained to Syed Ataullah Shah Bukhari (RA) about society's attitude toward daughters' rights, he replied:
"Oh, those daughters! Whomever you hand them over to, they quietly walk away with them without a single sigh, just to protect the honor of your turbans and beards. When they miss their parents' home at their in-laws, they weep in secret. Sometimes, they lighten their hearts by shedding tears on the pretext of smoke; the tears that fall while kneading flour get absorbed right into it...
But no one knows how many tears of that daughter are mixed into that bread.
O people of honor! Value them, they are very fragile crystals..."
