The Call for the Final Journey

The Call for the Final Journey

One of the righteous people used to stand on the city wall every night and call out, "Let's go, the time for the caravan to depart has come!" When he passed away, the ruler of the city could no longer hear this voice. Upon investigation, it was revealed that he had died, so the ruler recited these poetic verses: Translation of the verses: "He constantly remained engrossed with the call of departure and its remembrance, until the camel-driver (referring to the Angel of Death) camped at his very doorstep. Thus, he found him awake, alert, and fully prepared; false desires and hopes could not make him heedless."
