Method of answering the Iqamah
Just as it is Mustahab (recommended) to answer the Adhan verbally, similarly it is Mustahab to answer the Iqamah. Whatever words the Mukabbir says, the one answering should also say the exact same words. However, in response to "Hayya 'ala-s-Salah" and "Hayya 'ala-l-Falah", one should say "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah", and in response to "Qad qamat-is-Salah", one should say "Aqamahallahu wa adamaha". We all should make a special effort to do this, instead of getting busy with random talk during the Iqamah. (Aham Masail/Vol:6/Pg:52)
