Sometimes during travel by bus or train, a person is traveling with us; when his destination arrives, he gets down, and some of his belongings/luggage are left behind with us, and neither do we know him nor do we have his address. So the ruling regarding this luggage is that as long as it is thought that the person will be searching for his luggage, he should be searched for, and when one becomes hopeless of finding him, it should be given in charity (Sadqah), or if one is deserving oneself, they may use it.
