The Wisdom of Sheikh Saadi

Sheikh Saadi said: "Only one woman defeated me. When she had kept a plate covered, I asked, 'What is in the plate?' She then replied, 'Why did we cover it then?' Her answer left me embarrassed."

Today's Wisdom:

Do not try to expose anything that is hidden. Do not look for the other side of a person, even if you are certain that they are wrong. It is enough that they respect you and meet you with their best side.

Every human being has some deficiency or negative aspect within them, even within our own selves. Engaging in people's secrets paves the way for prejudice and injustice. Life is spent better in peace when we look at the positive aspects of others.

The Importance of Gentleness and Soft-spokenness Among Scholars and the Elite

The Importance of Gentleness and Soft-spokenness Among Scholars and the Elite

Gentleness and a soft temperament are extremely necessary among the class of scholars and the elite. Speaking in a harsh tone and getting angry, if done with the intention of training and reformation, obviously has no harm in it. However, if its purpose is merely to satisfy one's anger and vent one's frustration, then this is against the dignity of scholars and the elite. If a common man says something that goes against the nature and temperament of the elite, one should not get provoked immediately. Obviously, a common and uneducated person's way of speaking is usually ordinary; they do not know the etiquette of conversing with scholars and the elite. Now, if the elite also get into an altercation with him, then that common man who had approached a scholar—regardless of his purpose, whether worldly or for the hereafter—when the scholar speaks to him non-seriously and adopts a harsh, rough tone upon encountering an unpleasant remark, then obviously that common man will become distant and averse to him. He will avoid meeting that scholar again or benefiting from his graceful company. Contrary to this, if the scholar exercises patience and forbearance over something that goes against his temperament, and responds to his non-serious talk in a serious and gentle manner, then firstly, a good and positive message will reach him from the scholars and the elite. Secondly, this gracious and noble behavior of the scholars and elite will not leave him unimpressed. Thus, who knows, he might be so moved by this that he holds fast to the companionship of scholars and the elite, thereby reforming both his worldly life and the hereafter. May Allah Blessed and Exalted grant us the ability to act upon this. Earn the reward of both worlds by conveying this special message to other scholars. ____________🌹🌹____________ (Book: Monthly Zaad-us-Saeed Karachi (November) Page Number: 28 Selection: Islamic Tube Pro App)
