*The Valuable Advice of Hazrat Allama*

When I departed from Darul Uloom Deoband to serve as a teacher at Darul Uloom Ashrafia Rander, I requested my respected teacher, Hazrat Al-Ustad Allama Muhammad Ibrahim Sahib Balyawi (may Allah sanctify his secret), during our final meeting: "Hazrat! Please tell me something of great utility that I can cherish as a guiding principle for my life."

Hazrat replied: "Mawlvi Sahib!

1. Teach by understanding the essence of the subject (art/science) itself, do not teach merely by relying on commentaries; this will grant you true knowledge.

2. Consider your students as your own children; they will love you.

3. Follow the Sunnah; this will create dignity and respect for you in the hearts of people."

I cannot describe how immensely beneficial these three things proved to be for me.

The Importance of Halal Earnings and the Humility of Maulana Qasim Nanotvi

The Importance of Halal Earnings and the Humility of Maulana Qasim Nanotvi

Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Qasim Sahib Nanotvi (R.A) had a devotee who was a Thanedar (police station chief) in Muzaffarnagar. One day, he invited Hazrat Maulana Nanotvi to a feast. Maulana observed that the Thanedar's earnings were doubtful and suspicious, which is why he declined the invitation. When the Thanedar asked for the reason for not accepting the invitation, Hazrat said, "I am constrained (excused)." He said, "If you are ill, I will arrange for your medical treatment." Hazrat replied, "No, there is some other excuse." He said, "If traveling is difficult, I will arrange a ride." Hazrat said, "This is not the compulsion, rather it is another excuse." He requested again, "Shall I send the food to your place?" You declined. He submitted, "I will personally come and present the food." Hazrat flatly refused. The Thanedar suddenly flew into a rage and said, "You are neither a spiritual elder (Buzurg) nor righteous, because the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Accept invitations', and you are not accepting it." Upon this, Maulana Nanotvi replied, "I am guilty of and deserve even more faults than the ones you have mentioned." At that moment, the Thanedar came to his senses. He pondered and realized that Hazrat was rejecting his invitation due to his wealth being doubtful. He resigned from his post as a Thanedar that very day. After a few days, he invited him again and submitted, "Hazrat! Now I am inviting you with the lawful (Halal) income from my own property." Maulana Muhammad Qasim Sahib accepted the invitation and said to him, "Do a job, but work with honesty, because being a Thanedar with honesty is greater than all virtues, as a Thanedar holds the position of an accountability officer (Muhtasib)." ___________📝📝___________ Narrated.
