One day, a wise elder was sitting somewhere. Six persons came to him; three sat on his right side and three on his left side. Those on the right side were fair-skinned (white), while those on the left side were dark-skinned (black). He asked the first one among the fair-skinned persons, "Who are you?"

The first one replied: "Intellect (Wisdom)." He asked, "Where do you live?"

He replied: "In the brain."

He asked the second one, "Who are you?"

He replied: "Love, Affection, and Kindness." He asked, "Where do you live?" He replied: "In the heart."

He asked the third one, "Who are you?"

He replied: "Shame and Modesty." He asked, "Where do you live?"

He replied: "In the eyes."

Now, he asked the dark-skinned persons, "Who are you?"

The first one replied: "Arrogance (Pride)." He asked, "Where do you live?"

He replied: "In the brain." "But Intellect lives there?"

He replied: "When I arrive, she leaves."

He asked the second one, "Who are you?"

He replied: "Jealousy (Envy)." He asked, "Where do you live?"

He replied: "In the heart."

"But Kindness and Love live there?"

He replied: "When I arrive, they leave."

He asked the third one, "Who are you?"

He replied: "Greed." He asked, "Where do you live?"

He replied: "In the eyes."

"But Shame and Modesty live there?"
