A student should stay very far away from friendships. This disease also becomes an obstacle in the acquisition of knowledge. Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya (RA) used to say: that my father Maulana Yahya used to say that no matter how dull-minded a student may be, if he does not have the disease of forming friendships, he will eventually reach his destination. And no matter how intelligent a student may be, if he has the disease of forming friendships, he will never be able to reach his destination.
