A deputy (Khalifah) of Hazrat Mujaddid Alf Thani (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote a letter to him, enumerating his reformative and national achievements, stating: "Nowadays, I am delivering sermons, engaging in teaching and instruction, and the work of writing and compilation is also ongoing... etc. etc."

In response, Hazrat stated something extraordinary, which deserves our utmost attention. He said:

"My dear! All of this is the work you are doing for others? And services of this kind, Allah Almighty takes even from a wicked man (Rajul-e-Fajir).

You rather tell me, how are your personal deeds and spiritual states going? How is the matter of the purification of the heart (Tazkiyah-e-Qalb) and self-reform (Islah-e-Nafs)?"

Keeping this message of Hazrat in view, if we evaluate our own condition today, the matter appears extremely critical.

Because when the purpose and focus of knowledge, instead of self-concern and reform, becomes solely about keeping an eye on others, then its outcome becomes dangerous.
