Is reading possible in the digital era?

Yes, it is not only possible but has actually become easier. The only condition is that a person must set boundaries for social media usage and gain awareness about which platforms will be beneficial and which applications should be used. If technology is used in a healthy manner, with full consciousness and by keeping its advantages and disadvantages in mind, many paths to book reading will open up. The poor and middle class will be saved from being burdened under the expenses of books. Education levels have increased due to technology; according to a study, the number of authors and writers has increased by another 32% in 2022 compared to 2020. It is true that people prefer offline reading over online reading, but due to online reading, the percentage of readers is also continuously increasing.

The Unshakable Faith of a Mother

The Unshakable Faith of a Mother

The poet of Khatm-e-Nabuwat, Sayyid Amin Gilani (may Allah have mercy on him), narrates an incident from his time in prison, saying: "One day, a prison guard came and told me that the superintendent was calling me to the office. When I reached the office, I saw my mother sitting there along with my wife and my son, Salman Gilani, who was about a year and a quarter to a year and a half old at that time. As soon as my respected mother saw me, she stood up, embraced me, and began kissing my forehead. She asked about my well-being, her voice choked with emotion. The superintendent sensed that she was crying. My heart also filled up, and tears began to well up in my eyes. Seeing this, the superintendent said, 'Respected mother! Are you crying? Tell your son (passing a form forward) to sign this, and you can take him with you. He will be pardoned right now!' I was still composing myself to give him a reply when my mother spoke up passionately, 'What signature? What pardon? My heart desires to sacrifice ten such sons for the honor of the Holy Prophet (ﷺ). My crying is merely motherly affection.' Hearing this, the superintendent was filled with shame, and my heart was deeply comforted."
