The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that the free Aadhaar update facility will now be available till June 14, 2026. Earlier, this facility was to end today, i.e. June 14, 2025. UIDAI told X that this facility is available only on the myAadhaar portal, where demographic information (like name, address) can be updated. How will the free update be done? For the free update, you will have to upload your address and identity documents on the myAadhaar portal. However, for biometric update (like fingerprints or eye scan), you will have to visit the nearest Aadhaar center, where you will have to pay a fee. UIDAI clarified that only limited updates will be free online. Update required after every 10 years According to the government, every individual should update their Aadhaar after every 10 years. The Blue Aadhaar of children is updated between the ages of 5 and 15. Lakhs of Aadhaar holders are being encouraged to take advantage of this facility.
