A horrific accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Tuesday night (October 7, 2025) set the road ablaze when a truck loaded with LPG cylinders collided with a trailer, causing a series of explosions that echoed for 10 km. Live CCTV footage captured the heart-wrenching scene, where flames were seen reaching the sky. Accident details The accident took place around 10:30 am in the Sanwarda area of Mozambican, where a truck loaded with LPG cylinders (loaded with 330 cylinders) going from Ajmer to Jaipur collided with a speeding trailer. The impact of the collision caused the cylinders to explode, and a series of explosions of about 200 cylinders continued for three hours, destroying nearby hotels and vehicles. The trailer driver was seriously injured and was shifted to a local hospital, but there were no casualties. More than 10 fire brigade vehicles brought the flames under control, but the truck and five nearby vehicles were reduced to ashes. Eyewitness Vinod said: “Immediately after the collision, flames rose, and the cylinders started exploding one by one. The sound was so loud that it was heard 10 km away.” The police stopped traffic The accident is reminiscent of the Bhankarata accident in December 2024, where 19 people died. Government response Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma ordered immediate relief and sent Deputy CM Premchand Bairwa to visit the scene. Sharma said: “It is a heart-wrenching accident. Fire brigade and disaster management teams are working.” Chief Medical Officer Ravi Shekhawat said that the injured driver was given first aid, and there were no casualties.
