35-Lakh Famous Racing Bull 'Raja' Stolen, Family Announces ₹1 Lakh Reward

The 20-year-old famous racing bull 'Raja' and two other buffaloes have been stolen from Kala Sanghian village in Punjab's Kapurthala district. According to the family, Raja was worth around ₹35 lakh. The family has announced a cash reward of ₹1 lakh for anyone who provides information or helps in finding him.

Raja Never Lost in His 19-Year Racing Career

Raja was famous across traditional livestock races in Punjab for his strength and speed. He participated in competitions such as Halt Race, Nattan Di Daud, and Jhotteyan Di Daud.

Competitions: Participated in over 100 races throughout his 19-year career and was never defeated.

Rewards: Won tractors, a car, 87 motorcycles, and lakhs of rupees in cash prizes.

Titles: Remained the winner of the Dhapai Bull Race Fair for 10 consecutive years and the Nattan Di Daud for six years.

Popularity: For the locals, he was not just an animal but the pride of the entire region. Old videos of his races are still watched on social media today.

How Did He Go Missing?

According to family member Jaskaran Singh, about 20 days ago, Raja and two other buffaloes were tied near the tubewell motor and well in the field. The next morning, all three animals were found missing. The family launched a search and informed the police.

Vehicle Spotted on CCTV

In the initial investigation by the police, CCTV footage surfaced showing a vehicle resembling a Bolero Camper carrying three animals. However, the identity of the abductors has not been established yet. The family stated that Raja did not allow strangers near him and would attack if he felt threatened. Therefore, they suspect the thieves may have administered a sedative or used another method to subdue him, though this has not been confirmed.

Raja Fed Almonds, Fox Nuts, and Desi Ghee

Apart from regular fodder, Raja was fed almonds, fox nuts (makhana), and desi ghee to keep him healthy and strong. According to the family, he was brought from Harimpur village at a young age, and caring for him has been an essential part of the family's life ever since.

Racing Retirement Was Scheduled for December

Preparations were underway to give Raja a grand farewell from racing this year. He was set to be honored with a turban at the Baba Kahan Das Bull Race Tournament in December. However, news of his theft arrived before that could happen.

Family's Appeal

The family has appealed that anyone with information regarding Raja or the two other missing buffaloes should report it to the family or the police. The person who helps will receive a cash reward of ₹1 lakh. Villagers and animal lovers are hoping for Raja's safe return, while the police are investigating based on CCTV footage and other leads.
