A horrifying incident has been reported from Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district, where an armed assailant barged directly into a classroom during school hours and launched a deadly attack on a 10th-grade female student using a saw. The victim sustained severe injuries to her face and head, while another female student who stepped in to protect her was also injured. The brutal attack triggered widespread panic and chaos across the school campus. Police acted swiftly to arrest the suspect.

The incident occurred at the Zilla Parishad High School in Raptadu. As regular classes were underway, the suspect carrying a saw suddenly entered the school premises and headed straight into the 10th-grade classroom. Without any warning, he launched a violent attack on the student. Teachers and students present in the classroom were left traumatized. Immediately following the incident, both injured students were rushed to the Government General Hospital in Anantapur in critical condition, where a team of doctors is monitoring them. Relief was reported as no fatalities occurred.

Taking serious note of the incident, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep outrage and assured all possible assistance to the victims:

Minister for Education and IT, Nara Lokesh, also strongly condemned the attack. He stated that schools are considered the safest havens for children, and such atrocity within an educational institution is deeply condemnable. He reiterated that the safety of women and female students remains the government's utmost priority, and the perpetrator will not be spared under any circumstances.

Local police acted promptly to take the suspect into custody, and the process of seizing the weapon used in the attack is underway.
