عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ: مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يَكُونُ فِي قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي يَقْدِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْ يُغَيِّرُوا عَلَيْهِ فَلَا يُغَيِّرُوا إِلَّا أَصَابَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعَذَابٍ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَمُوتُوا(ابو داؤد شریف:۴۳۳۹/کتاب الملاحم)
Translation
Hazrat Jarir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: "When a person commits an evil deed among a nation, and the people of that nation, despite having the power, do not change that person and his deed, then Allah Almighty sends down His punishment upon those people even before their death arrives."
