The Holy Prophet ﷺ as a Husband: The Holy Prophet ﷺ used to treat his family members with great love. He stated: "I am the best among you to his family." Once he came home while Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was drinking water from a bowl... He called out from a distance, "Humaira! Save some water for me too..." Her name was Aisha, but out of love, the Holy Prophet ﷺ used to call her Humaira. (Giving a loving nickname is also a Sunnah). The Holy Prophet ﷺ as a Father: Hazrat Fatima (may Allah be pleased with her) lived a short distance away from his house in Madinah. He said, "O piece of my heart! You live very far. I wish to bring you closer to me." When Hazrat Harith came to know about this, he offered, "Whichever house of mine you like is at your disposal." The Prophet ﷺ prayed for Harith and then moved the piece of his heart (his daughter) to the nearby house. The Holy Prophet ﷺ as a Brother: Some maidservants were presented in the service of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Among them, a maidservant named Shima kept staring at him for a long time, then she said, "Do you know who I am? I am your foster (milk-share) sister, Shima." Tears came to the Prophet's eyes... He spread his blessed cloak with his own hands, seated his elder sister with great respect, and conversed with her for a while; his face was glowing with joy. The Holy Prophet ﷺ as a Grandfather: The Hasanayn (Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husayn, may Allah be pleased with them) were standing with their feet placed on the blessed feet of their grandfather (the Holy Prophet ﷺ)... He held the hands of both and said, "Sons! Climb higher..." Climbing up, they reached his chest... The grandfather lovingly kissed his grandson's face... and supplicated to God, "O Lord! I love them, so You love them too." The Holy Prophet ﷺ as a Son: An old woman came to the Holy Prophet ﷺ, and he seated her with immense respect... A companion saw this and asked, "Who is this lady?" People told him, "This honorable lady is Halima Sa'diyya, who raised and nursed the Holy Prophet ﷺ..." The Holy Prophet ﷺ as a Father-in-Law: Once Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked him, "Who do you love more between your daughter and your son-in-law?" He replied, "Fatima is more beloved to me than you, and you are dearer to me than Fatima." The Holy Prophet ﷺ as a Nephew: Among the captives of the Battle of Badr, his uncle Abbas came as a prisoner... His hands and feet were tied tightly with ropes and chains. The sound of his groaning was reaching the ears of his merciful nephew. The Prophet ﷺ was restlessly turning sides again and again. The companions understood that the groans of Hazrat Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) had made the Prophet restless. The people loosened Abbas's bonds.
