Scientists have proven that time spent in the forest strengthens mental peace and the body's immune system, reduces mental stress, and brings heart rate and blood pressure back to normal.
All of this is possible not just because of a peaceful environment and light physical activity, but also due to real interaction with trees. A study showed that after walking in the forest for just a few minutes, the number of a special type of white blood cells in the blood, known as "natural killers," increases. These cells help the immune system fight against viruses and even cancer. The impact of these effects persists for up to seven days after the experiment.
Other research has also proven that the boost in the immune system is, at least partially, due to the effects of phytoncides released by plants and trees.
When you are in a beautiful forest, you feel a real sense of support and happiness. Just like meeting an old friend.
The forest takes you into its embrace.
