Iran’s retaliatory strike According to Iranian media, the attack was in retaliation for the killing of Major General Mohammad Baqeri, IRGC Chief Major General Hossein Salami, and Aerospace Commander Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh. Israel had targeted Iran’s nuclear and military bases, claiming to have attacked the Isfahan nuclear plant, but Iran has not confirmed this. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that ‘Operation Rising Line’ was approved in November 2024, which is a plan for major strikes against Iran’s nuclear program.
