A heartbreaking incident took place in Malawan village of Bihar's Nalanda district, where Rural Development Minister Shravan Kumar and a local MLA were attacked by an angry mob. The minister managed to save his life by running for about a kilometer, while several people, including his bodyguard, were injured. Details of the incident The incident, which took place on August 26, 2025, in Malawan village under Hilsa police station area of Nalanda, has its roots in a road accident that occurred three days ago, in which nine people died. Minister Shravan Kumar and MLA Prem Mukhiya reached the village to offer their condolences to the affected families. During the meeting, the issue of compensation heated up, as the villagers alleged that the MLA had promised to pay compensation on the day of the accident, which has not been fulfilled yet. The angry mob attacked with stones and sticks, forcing the minister and the MLA to flee. The police immediately brought the situation under control by deploying heavy contingents and started examining the video footage to identify the accused. Reaction and investigation BJP leader Lee Shimba condemned the incident, calling it ‘anti-social’. The police have registered a case and are conducting raids to arrest the accused.
