The phone and SIM cards used by the accused have also been recovered, and he is being brought to Mumbai for further investigation. Possible propaganda by Godi media and Hindutva parties If the suspect who made the threat was a Muslim, Godi media and Hindutva parties would have used the incident as a weapon of propaganda against Islam and Muslims. As always, without any solid evidence, there was a clamor on media channels and social media that “terrorism is related to Islam”. Headlines were running day and night, blaming Muslims without any research. Hindutva organizations used this opportunity to target the Muslim community, make hate speeches against them, and create a storm of false rumors on social media. There are many examples in the past where innocent Muslims were imprisoned for years on false charges of terrorism, their lives were ruined, and finally the courts declared them innocent and released them. But by then the social, economic and psychological damage to them was irreparable. Compensation has been paid. On the other hand, when the accused turns out to be a non-Muslim, as in the case of Ashwin Kumar Supra, the media and Hindutva parties remain silent. There is no outcry, nor is any religious colour given. This double standard is clear every time, but the mainstream media avoids discussing it. The result This incident once again highlights the fact that terrorism has no religion. But unfortunately, every threat or incident is tried to be linked to a specific community, which is not only against the requirements of justice but also promotes hatred and division in the society.
