Escalating Middle East Tensions: Israeli Attacks on Iran and Alleged US Involvement

Tensions in the Middle East have once again escalated to a dangerous level. Direct military confrontation between Israel and Iran has pushed the region into a state of uncertainty, while reports of US involvement have made the matter extremely serious on a global level.

Israeli Attacks on Iran, Alleged US Involvement:

On Saturday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on various locations in Iran. Sounds of explosions were heard in central Tehran, and clouds of smoke enveloped the city's sky. According to Iranian news agencies, several rockets fell in key areas of the capital.

According to a report by the Associated Press, a US official and sources familiar with the operation claimed that the United States is also partnering with Israel in these attacks; however, no official confirmation has emerged yet.

Explosion Near Khamenei's Office:

According to initial reports, the first attack occurred near the office of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. It remains unclear whether he was present in the building at the time of the attack. Due to increasing tensions with the US in recent days, he had been away from the public eye.

Iranian Airspace Closed:

Immediately after the attacks, Iran closed its airspace. Reports of explosions were received near central areas of Tehran, especially government and commercial districts. Eyewitnesses saw black smoke rising into the city's sky.

Iran had already warned that in the event of any aggression, US military bases and personnel in the region could also be targeted, increasing the risk of a wider war.

Emergency Measures in Israel:

The Israeli Defense Minister confirmed the attack on Iran and declared a state of emergency across the country. The Israel Defense Forces' Home Front Command immediately announced a reduction of "full activity" to "essential activity" across the entire country.

Educational institutions, public gatherings, and non-essential business activities have been suspended. Citizens have been instructed to stay close to safe shelters and strictly follow official directives.

Air India Flight Affected:

Passengers of Air India flight AI 140, traveling from Tel Aviv to New Delhi, also faced an emergency situation. Passengers suddenly had to leave their luggage behind and move toward bomb shelters. In view of the situation, Air India has announced the suspension of its operations for a week.

Trump's Statement and Deadlock in Negotiations:

These attacks came just a few hours after US President Donald Trump's statement expressing dissatisfaction with the ongoing nuclear negotiations with Iran. He made it clear that Iran cannot be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.

The talks recently concluded in Geneva, but no definitive progress could be made. Oman's Foreign Minister urged the parties to continue the negotiations and adopt a diplomatic path to resolve the remaining issues.

Growing Uncertainty in the Region:

Direct attacks between Israel and Iran, alleged US involvement, and the deadlock in nuclear negotiations—all these factors have brought the Middle East to the brink of a major conflict. Now, the eyes of the international community are focused on whether this tension will remain contained or take the form of a widespread war.
