Mumbai: A tragic accident took place on Monday in a Mumbai local train, in which 13 passengers fell from a moving train onto the railway tracks, four of whom died. Initially, the death toll was reported to be five, but the Central Railways later confirmed the death of four people in a statement issued. Details of the accident According to the Central Railways, the accident took place between Deva-Kupar railway station. Some passengers were travelling in a local train heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). Due to extreme crowding near Mumbra station, some passengers fell off the train. Railway officials said that the accident occurred due to overcrowding. Rescue operations The railway administration and police reached the spot as soon as the accident was reported. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital. Authorities have started an investigation into the incident. Local rail services have also been affected due to the accident.
