An Eye-Opening Incident of My Life

Written by: Badrul Islam Qasmi

Teacher, Jamia Imam Muhammad Anwar Shah, Deoband

Generally, I am not in favor of making very personal matters, pictures, or incidents public on social media. However, if an event occurs that contains a lesson, a reason to be grateful, encouraging themes, or requires the prayers of friends, I certainly share it.

A similar incident happened to me yesterday, Monday, November 18, 2024.

At around 1:30 PM, I was doing some work at Noor Graphics. Both children left the house to study, so I thought of going upstairs to have lunch. When I came up, my three-year-old younger son was swinging in the middle of the courtyard. My respected mother was in her room located a bit further away. Since my wife was nowhere to be seen, I turned towards my personal room. Right adjacent to it, inside the bathroom, I felt the sound of someone gasping and breathing heavily. I called my wife by her name and knocked lightly on the door, but there was no response, and the sound remained the same. Feeling alarmed, I used my shoulder multiple times to break down the door. After five or six strikes, the door broke, and I found my wife unconscious in a corner. I called out to my mother repeatedly. My wife was completely unconscious, the condition of her eyes was indescribable, and her teeth were tightly clenched. I couldn't comprehend anything; it felt like doomsday had arrived upon me. With great difficulty, along with my mother, we brought her out of the bathroom. I rushed outside to find a doctor, with the name of Almighty Allah on my lips and my eyes searching for a helpful doctor. Both doctors near the house were not at their clinics. I called a doctor located a bit further away, but he was also quite far from home. I sent Nadeem Bhai (Manager, Maktaba-an-Noor) to get another doctor from the neighborhood, but he too was attending to an emergency case. Then, he was immediately sent to Razi Clinic, located near Darul Uloom Waqf, where Doctor Salman Wali, the son of my late teacher Hazrat Maulana Ghulam Nabi Kashmiri (may Allah have mercy on him), serves. About fifteen minutes had passed since breaking the door. My wife was breathing, but she lacked the power to speak. After a while, her senses began to return, and her lips started moving slowly as if she wanted to say something. When I leaned in to listen closely, she was reciting the Kalimah Tayyibah and saying, "Forgive my mistakes." My mother and I continuously reassured her. My mother brought recited water and made her drink it. Meanwhile, Doctor Salman Wali Sahab also arrived, immediately checked her BP and oxygen level, reassured us, and gave injections.

He stated that due to the gas geyser being inside the bathroom, the oxygen was depleted, which caused her to faint. He said, "Rest assured, she will fully recover in a day or two, In sha Allah."

This half-hour was among the hardest moments of my life. It was the immense grace of Allah, and no matter how much I thank the Merciful and Kind Lord, it is not enough.

From this incident, we learn that under no circumstances should a gas geyser be installed inside the bathroom. God forbid, it can cause a major accident, and many other similar incidents have already been heard of.

By the grace and blessings of Allah, my respected wife is recovering. I request further prayers from friends. Jazakumullah Khaira.

An Envious Incident of Love for the Prophet ﷺ in Masjid Nabawi

An Envious Incident of Love for the Prophet ﷺ in Masjid Nabawi

A Turkish Muslim, standing in the courtyard of Masjid-e-Nabawi Sharif, narrates an eyewitness incident as follows: I was standing in Masjid-e-Nabawi, watching four policemen waiting for someone. Then a man appeared, and the policemen rushed to apprehend him and bound his hands. The young man said, "Allow me to supplicate (Dua) and make Tawassul (intercession). Listen to me, I am neither a beggar nor a thief." Then the youth began to cry out. When I looked at him, it felt as if I knew him. Let me tell you how I recognized him; in fact, I had seen him crying many times in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He was an Albanian youth, aged between 35 and 36 years, with golden hair and a light beard. I said to the policemen, "He has committed no crime, so why are you treating him like this? What after all is the accusation against him?" They said, "Step back! You have no right to speak in this matter." But I asked again, "What after all is his issue with you? Has he committed a theft?" They replied, "This man has been living here in Madinah Munawwarah for 6 years, but his stay is illegal. We want to catch him and deport him back to his country, but every time he escapes with the same trick and takes refuge inside the Rawdah of the Prophet ﷺ. We did not want to go inside and arrest him." I asked, "So what will you do with him now?" They said, "We will catch him, put him on a plane, and send him back to Albania." The young man was crying continuously and saying, "What will happen if you leave me? Look, I am not a thief, I do not beg from anyone. I am living here purely out of the love for the Prophet ﷺ." The policemen said, "No, this is not permissible." The young man said, "Fine, just let me comfortably present a plea to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." Then the young man turned his face towards the Green Dome (Gumbad-e-Khizra). The policemen said, "Go ahead, say whatever you want to say." The young man looked towards the Green Dome and whatever he said in Arabic, I understood it. That youth was saying, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Was there no agreement between us? Did I not leave my mother and father? Did I not close my shop and leave my home and hearth? And did I not come here with the pledge that I would reside in your vicinity of mercy? O Master! Now look, they are forbidding me from doing so. O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Why do you not intervene? O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Why do you not intervene?" Meanwhile, the young man began to lose consciousness, so the policemen loosened their grip a bit, and the young man fell down. A policeman kicked him and said, "O deceiver, get up!" But the youth showed no reaction. I said to the policemen, "He will not run away. Bring water from the washrooms and splash it on his face." But the youth was not making any movement. One policeman said, "Look at him carefully, lest he has actually died." The second policeman replied, "What kind of blow did we strike him that would cause him to die?" Then they called the ambulance. They brought an ambulance from the opposite Gate Number 7. They placed a hand on the youth's jugular vein to note any movement and checked the pulse, then they said, "It has been 15 minutes since he passed away." Now the policemen sat down like criminals and began to weep. That scene too was worth watching. One of them was striking his hands against his knees, saying, "Alas! Why did our hands not break? I wish we knew that he possessed such intense love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Alas! Why did our hands not break?" After that, the ambulance staff lifted him from there and took him to the burial preparation section towards Jannat-ul-Baqi. I was also present there at the time of bathing (Ghusl). I kept telling them, "Let me touch him too, let me also lift his bier." When the funeral was ready to go for the prayers, the policemen said to me, "The amount of sin we have accumulated is quite enough. No one else but us will lift his bier. Perhaps in this way, we might get some leniency in the Hereafter." Right in front of me, that young man was repeatedly saying, "O Messenger of Allah, why are you not intervening?" Behold! The Messenger of Allah ﷺ intervened, and the Angel of Death performed his duty and reached him to you forever. May Allah grant us the same love for His Beloved ﷺ that was granted to this Albanian youth. Ameen.
