In the era of King Akbar, there were three friends who were not getting married.
They presented a request before King Akbar to get them married.
The king called all three of them and said,
"I will get you married, but there will be one condition.
You people will have to go through a trial.
The one who succeeds will be married to a beautiful girl, and the one who fails will be married to an ugly girl."
They accepted the condition.
They were kept together in a dark room, where it was completely dark.
And they were told that they had to stay here for one month. Eating, drinking, sleeping, and waking up would be right here.
Poppadoms (papad) have been placed at various places in the room; you have to avoid them so they don't come under your feet. The one whose foot lands on a poppadom, his marriage will be done with an ugly girl.
Now, all three friends started living with complete caution to pass through this trial safely.
Nine days passed peacefully.
On the tenth day, one friend's foot landed on a poppadom. Immediately, the soldiers took him out of the room and his marriage was done with an ugly girl.
Now the two friends became happy that the space had become vacant.
On the twentieth day, another friend's foot landed on a poppadom, and the soldiers took him away too, crying and wailing.
Now the third one was left alone.
He spent the remaining days safely.
Upon completion of the trial, his marriage was done with a beautiful girl, and he started living happily.
One day he said to his wife,
"Do you know how painful a trial I went through to obtain you?"
And after that, he explained the complete details.
Then he asked,
"Okay, you tell me, what did you do to obtain me?"
The wife took a cold sigh and said,
"We three friends were also locked in a room… then one day my foot landed on a poppadom!"۔😄
